In accordance with Heather, a documentary photographer and mom of four, the photo reached over 9 million individuals, and of these millions, one person delivered a criticism into the local authorities.

“Thomas and I had been investigated by Arizona’s Department of Child Safety (DCS) and the Sahuarita Police Department for a number of claims that the person made in their correspondence.”

The authorities said they weren’t going to take some actions against the Whittens and the case closed at July 2016.

Nevertheless, an investigator in the department is escalating the issue, and based on Heather attempted  “to have me seen as an immodest, neglectful and abusive mom based on the only interview she had with me.”

A claim of neglect when the picture was published

“… The sole claim [the investigator] is able  to indicate be substantiated against me was that I failed to supervise our kids by allowing the pictures to be online and so put them in an unreasonable risk of injury,” Heather says.

“Later she made it clear that she was basing almost all of her comments on me since I breastfed one of my twins throughout the full meeting, without covering myself or my son or daughter. Needless to say, she couldn’t take action against us for one of these things … that they were either complete reaches or in the instance of me breastfeeding, normal and protected by law.”

The photograph that started it all

When the highly effective photo was posted the photo was taken by Facebook down since it ‘violated’ photo coverages.

Heather continued to repost it, in the hope that Facebook would welcome “this sort of freedom for families and musicians” but Facebook continued to down it. It was loved by people, people despised it, and it moved viral.

“It was a strong time for us as parents,” Heather wrote.

“As I sat in the shower together with the two of these I was just overwhelmed with all the scene in front of me. This guy. This husband and spouse and dad.

“He had been so individual and so loving and so powerful with our small son in his or her lap. His whisper of reassurance to Fox, that Thomas would care for him and that he would be OK was honest and stead.

“Thomas spent hours in the shower with him, attempting to keep his fever down and allowing the vomit and diarrhoea rinse them off both as it arrived.”

A hearing date has been scheduled

An administrative hearing is being held on February 3, and Heather is going to have the chance to give evidence.

If the claim is redeemed, Heather is going to be added to Arizona’s Central Registry.

“I shall no more have the ability to foster or adopt kids,” she states. “I will not have the ability to hold a position working with children or vulnerable adults. Not only in Arizona but across the country.”

The Go Fund Me campaign for legal fees of Heather raised $5500 in eight hours.

Heather Whitten’s photo of her husband comforting their son in the shower moved viral, and following a criticism that is single, they have been investigated by child services and the authorities.
